I design for good craftsmanship, simplicity, and impact. I care deeply about the democratization of design and providing equal opportunities for aspiring designers to learn and grow.
Today
I'm currently at UCLA (Go Bruins!) getting my Bachelor's in Cognitive Science with a Computer Science specialization. I'm also double minoring in Digital Humanities and Entrepreneurship.
Wherever I go, I bring a book, headphones, some form of caffeinated beverage — and if I'm lucky, a friend to share the adventure with.
Growing Up
I grew up in the San Gabriel Valley as a third-generation Chinese/Japanese American. As far back as I can remember, my parents taught me how to embrace change and be present for others.
While my childhood dream was to become a teacher, I always appreciated aesthetics and loved seeing peoples reaction to things I made.
Finding Design
Coming into college, I was a Business Economics major. However, I knew I wasn't being fulfilled creatively and I also wanted to make more of a tangible impact with my work.
My design journey began with self-driven learning, developing real empathy for the people around me, and thinking of ways to solve complex problems with simple solutions.
My goals
Now, I'm designing products and telling visual stories, hoping they can bring impact and values to people around the world.
I love everything about the human-centered design process, from strategy to information architecture all the way to executions in-pixel and in-person.
Outside of the pixels
In my spare time, you'll probably find me cafe-hopping, trying to find the best matcha latte LA has to offer. LA has also taught me how to appreciate a good open-face everything bagel.
Beyond that, I enjoy thrifting, working out, and have been baking since I was a kid! Also—before I forget—thanks for stopping by and learning a little bit more about me. I hope you enjoy exploring around.
With a labor of love,
